Hello everyone,
I was wondering what kind of utilities/programs/apps that users would like to see in KeyCreator, that would be helpful to them? Something that could be a real time safer for people or other helpful tools.
Basically like a wish list :). I don't want this to be a post of people venting of the short comings of KeyCreator. There will never be a software that will have everything you want.
I want to take this opportunity to thank the Kubotek team for making the SDK and KXL macro language available, so that users can write their own custom programs to aid their specific needs!
Blessings to all,
Hans

How about rendering? Shapr3D and Fusion 360 have it, and they are lower-cost programs.
Also, the ability to set the menu bars, etc to "dark" mode. I can't be the only one who models on a black screen.
The ability to lock detail entries for one layout to another, even within the same model. Each layout reverts to the general default, and you have to reset note and dimension styles.
How about the ability to interrupt a process that is taking a long time? That includes rendering hidden lines if you change your mind.
Didn't we use to have spell check? Or at least let Grammarly work within a layout drawing.
And what about the ability to import an editable Excel spreadsheet?
... will probably think of a few more.
All the best,
Mike

Not sure what you mean? Not familiar with those programs

That's something Kubotek would have to do.

Could you go more into detail what you would like there?

This might be doable, but probably not dynamically. You would probably have to trigger a spell check to check the layout. I don’t know how you would go about doing it dynamically while typing.
And what about the ability to import an editable Excel spreadsheet?
This might be possible. Could you tell me how this should exactly work according to your wishes?

Hi Hans,
Rendering - Photorealistic. Available in many CAD programs, even low-cost ones.
Lock Detail entries - within a model's layout pages, the specific dimension styles and font types reset to default for each layout. It would save time if it "stuck".
Spell check - I use and recommend Grammarly, but it doesn't work in layouts. Old-fashioned spell check would also be helpful.
Excel spreadsheet - This is useful for parts lists in place of an integrated BOM.
Best regards,
Mike

Excel spreadsheet - This is useful for parts lists in place of an integrated BOM. >>> I kind of do have that already to create level based BOM's, though it is not synced between KC and Excel, see "rough" video: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZHVNhaz4z4AFiS_44RvgXWUR1e97-33f/view?usp=sharing
